728_best_marie_liuThe Friends of Marie Zimmerman are hosting “A History of Art in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area,” to be presented by local artist Marie Liu at Zimmermann house, this Saturday at noon.

The Zimmermann house is a perfect venue for this fascinating and revealing look at the legacy of art, from the Lenape Indians to present day, created of and within the region that is the DWG National Recreation Area. Following the presentation, guests are welcome to tour the restored home of Marie Zimmermann, a renowned craftswoman of metals and jewels.

An art exhibit will also be on display that day to bring the presentation up to the present, giving the attendees a chance to meet artists and see work currently being created of the Delaware Water Gap NRA. Liu’s series of paintings that feature M. Zimmermann’s metalwork creations (example enclosed) will also be on exhibit.
